I have delivered sessions on building confidence for my pupils. I have also delivered mindfulness practice and meditation sessions especially for those that suffer from anxiety and stress/ confidence, low self-esteem and have coached students to form positive peer relationships. This has helped them to be better equipped with interpersonal and life skills. This includes being positive and having a brighter outlook, having a growth/more positive mindset.
Behaviour management skills: I have excellent experience in managing and drawing out positive behaviour for learning, this is where pupils feel happy and want to behave for me and in-turn want to learn from me. I have experience in large class settings in challenging Schools as well as on a one to one basis. My approach is proactive approaches to changing challenging student behaviour. Some examples of positive behaviour strategies I use are firstly to build / form a connection with the pupil. I find having common ground/ interests works in building a rapport with students I teach. Another strategy I found works is pre-correcting and prompting and giving nonverbal signals. I find it is important to respond to behaviours consistently and predictably. I have coached many colleagues to help them develop their behaviour management skills to ensure a positive learning environment for the pupils in our school.

Using positive affirmations to practice a more positive mindset. It is imperative that students feel supported and encouraged to learn and explore in a calm and respectful environment.
