About Me
Skills & Experience
Specialist Maths Tutor
Hi there! I’m thrilled to share a little about myself and the passion I bring to tutoring. My journey as a Maths tutor and educator has been an incredible adventure, filled with opportunities to connect with amazing students, build their confidence, and help them thrive academically and personally.
Creating Meaningful and Trusting Relationships with Students with SEN
I absolutely love working with children with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, dyslexia, and sensory or auditory processing challenges. My experience as the head of a department of 13 Maths specialists gave me the chance to closely collaborate with SEND teams, ensuring tailored and effective support for every child. Whether it’s helping a young person with autism unlock their potential or finding creative ways to engage a student with ADHD, I’m committed to building trust and helping them achieve success. I believe in creating a positive and adaptable learning environment where every child feels valued and capable.
Study Skills, Revision, and Organisation—Made Fun!
Over the past decade, I’ve discovered so many fun and effective ways to teach essential skills like reading, memory techniques, note-taking, and test prep. I’ve loved helping students manage their time and stay organised while setting them up for success in all their subjects. As a pastoral lead, I’ve also guided young people in choosing GCSE and A-level subjects that align with their dreams and aspirations—it’s such a joy to be part of their journey!
Helping SEN Students Shine in Maths
Maths is my passion, and I bring that enthusiasm into every session. I’ve worked with students from Year 7 with low prior attainment to Year 13 high achievers, as well as younger learners preparing for 7+, 11+, and 13+ exams. My specialties include GCSEs (across Edexcel, AQA, and OCR) and A-level Maths and Further Maths. I even had the privilege of participating in the Department for Education’s Shanghai teacher exchange programme, where I learned new ways to bring Maths alive for my students. My goal isn’t just to teach Maths—it’s to spark a lifelong love for learning and growth.
Supporting Students with Dyslexia
As someone who is dyslexic, I have a personal connection to the unique challenges and triumphs that come with it. I’ve developed and refined strategies that helped me succeed academically and now use them to empower students with dyslexia. It’s deeply rewarding to see them gain confidence and discover their strengths.
Empowering Students with Sensory and Processing Needs
Through my work as Professional Development Lead for the London Thames Maths Hub, I’ve championed the Maths Mastery approach, which focuses on the idea that everyone can succeed in Maths. I’ve seen incredible transformations, particularly in students with sensory and processing challenges. These strategies have not only helped my students excel but also inspired other educators nationwide to implement them.
A Holistic Approach to Learning
I believe that tutoring is about so much more than academics. It’s about connection, growth, and discovering what makes each student unique. Whether it’s Primary Maths, Secondary English, Study Skills, or boosting confidence and independence, I tailor every session to the needs, interests, and goals of the student. Seeing their joy and pride when they achieve something they thought was impossible is what makes this work so fulfilling.
Let’s make learning an exciting and empowering experience together!

My Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of education is that all children have the potential to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I believe that progress will be maximised when there’s attention to detail and care is taken to understand the student as an individual. I create an atmosphere where error’s are seen as a healthy part of learning and students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.
