Skills & Experience
With over 16 years of teaching experience, including six years as a specialist one-to-one SEND tutor, I bring a relational, personalised approach to working with children and young people across a wide range of needs. I am experienced in supporting students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, ADD, PDA profiles, Dyspraxia, dyslexia, SEMH needs, and speech and language differences, including Gestalt language processors, verbal dyspraxia, and selective mutism. I also regularly support young people experiencing EBSA and those who may feel anxious or overwhelmed by learning.
At the core of my practice is building trusting, meaningful relationships, which I see as the foundation for engagement and progress. I create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and understood. My sessions are responsive to each child’s sensory, communication, and emotional needs, and I draw on trauma-informed and mindfulness-based approaches where appropriate to support regulation, focus, and well-being.
I am experienced in supporting students across all key stages, helping them to develop strong foundations in English and Maths and build confidence as independent learners. In English, I use clear, structured strategies to support reading fluency, comprehension, and expressive writing. In Maths, I break concepts down into manageable, practical steps, using visual and hands-on approaches to make learning accessible.
I place strong emphasis on building confidence and independence, supporting students to develop resilience, self-awareness, and a more positive relationship with learning over time.
1 Review on “Linda”
Linda has really helped my son to improve his maths. He has a diagnosis for adhd and has struggled with being able to concentrate or show interest in maths. However, with Linda’s help he has improved greatly. The lessons are calm, seem interesting and my son has been helped to focus on the material.
