About Me
Skills & Experience
I have over 15 years of experience working in education, specialising in teaching and tutoring children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, and complex learning profiles. My career has spanned mainstream, specialist provisions and alternative provision, with roles including SENCO, Assistant Head for Inclusion and Senior Leader for Primary and Outreach services.
Most recently, I served as Assistant Head for Inclusion in a London primary school, leading whole-school strategies for inclusion and behaviour teaching in the SEN classroom and delivering CPD to staff on SEND and trauma-informed approaches. Prior to that, I was SENCO across all Newham PRU provisions for five years, where I oversaw assessment and intervention for a large and diverse cohort, coordinated multi-agency teams and developed whole-school systems for nurture, literacy, and reflective practice.
Earlier in my career, I worked as a 1:1 SEN outreach teacher supporting pupils with autism, complex learning and medical needs, global delay, communication difficulties and sensory processing difficulties. I provided one-to-one tuition for students aged 6–18 in home or safe settings, tailoring learning plans to each individual and liaising closely with families and professionals networks.
Alongside my teaching career, I’ve also worked in creative and therapeutic roles including as a play leader for autistic children and a music tutor delivering inclusive workshops in drumming, ukulele, and samba.
