About Me
Skills & Experience
As a Senior mental health lead and primary class teacher for many years I am passionate about child mental health and wellbeing. My role sadly highlighted the increased need, heightened since the pandemic, to provide targeted support and resources for families, children and young people, especially those with EBSA, diagnosed/ undiagnosed neurodivergent conditions (PDA profiles) and SEMH.
I am familiar working for local authorities, their partners and families, advising on both a preventative and reactive approaches to improving mental health within communities. I train and support teaching staff in schools (based on current research) to support Neurodivergent presentations in children and young people and design 1:1 intervention support in schools.
I am innovative in both my content and delivery of training, intervention and support, addressing inequalities and sourcing solutions. I remain empathetic, enthusiastic, with a knack for making training and learning exciting and enjoyable. I am motivated by the belief that all people can and should have the opportunity to thrive.
I have a thorough knowledge of recognising how Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) impacts learners ability to access and engage in learning. I am able to provide evidence based support to these learners to improve emotional regulation, and a greater awareness of self, enabling them to be more receptive to learning.
As a primary school teacher, I’m all about making learning fun and accessible for my students. With a big smile and a lot of energy, I strive to create a positive atmosphere where children feel encouraged to grow. My favourite is maths with a love of fractions! I find joy in helping children discover the magic in numbers and problem-solving. Whether it’s a tricky equation or a simple game, I believe learning should always be an exciting adventure!

My Teaching Philosophy
My approach centres on building positive relationships with pupils and families. I work patiently and creatively to adapt teaching strategies to suit each learner and their learning style. I work by breaking down complex tasks, using multi-sensory resources, and implementing clear routines that promote independence and confidence. I am experienced in supporting learners with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs. I regularly incorporate visual supports, assistive technology, focussing on increasing self awareness through emotional wellbeing interventions to help students access the learning at an appropriate pace.
