About me

With over 25 years of experience in education as a Specialist Teacher, I use therapeutic and Enquiry‑Based Learning approaches to create calm, sensory‑rich environments where children feel safe, regulated and ready to engage.

Through music, rhythm, movement, stillness and person‑centred interactions, I support children to be curious, communicate, express themselves, build confidence and develop their sensory and motor skills in meaningful ways.

My experience with Play‑Based Learning, Liquid Listening, Hydrotherapy, Rebound Therapy and Intensive Interaction has shown how nurturing, predictable and responsive sensory experiences can help children with SEMH, speech and language needs, trauma histories and complex needs feel secure, reduce anxiety, build relationships and reach their full potential.

Something Sensational About Me

Outside of school, I love staying active through walking, cycling and running, and I'm happiest when I'm outdoors exploring somewhere new. I also love travelling and experiencing different cultures, and I'm always on the lookout for interesting treasures to collect along the way. Don't be surprised if you spot me picking up random sticks, shells, leaves or other unusual objects, as they often end up becoming part of my ever-growing collection to encourage enquiry based learning and for sensory stories!

I love to laugh and embrace my silly side! Whether I'm dressing up, acting out a favourite story character or simply finding joy in the little things, I'm always ready for an adventure and believe life is much more fun with a good imagination and plenty of laughter!
