About Me

I am an experienced tutor and former senior school leader with over 26 years of experience. I have a strong track record of supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs.

I build calm, trusting and meaningful relationships with young people, creating a safe space where they feel understood, valued and ready to learn. I have taught in various urban, multicultural, and multilingual primary schools and settings, with all my teaching and leadership experience rooted in the inner-city boroughs of London. Working with pupils and families from diverse backgrounds and responding sensitively to their needs is an aspect of my role that I both value and enjoy.

I use a highly personalised, child‑centred approach, adapting communication, routines and teaching methods to meet each learner’s individual profile. I am skilled in supporting young people with challenging behaviour, always using relational, trauma‑informed strategies to reduce anxiety and build confidence.

I enjoy designing engaging sessions that spark curiosity and inspire a love of learning. A core part of my work is helping children develop independence, self‑esteem and a strong sense of their own strengths — so they can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Qualifications and Training

I hold a BEd (Hons) degree and bring extensive experience leading teaching and learning across whole‑school settings. As a Deputy Headteacher and Teaching & Learning Lead, I have trained and supported Early Career Teachers, coached staff at all stages of their development, and created personalised professional development plans to strengthen classroom practice. I have taught model lessons for colleagues to observe, demonstrating effective strategies for inclusion, differentiation and high‑quality instruction. My leadership and teaching experience spans EYFS to KS3, including roles as EYFS Lead and Read Write Inc Phonics Lead, giving me a deep understanding of progression, early reading development and the academic and pastoral needs of pupils right through to the transition into secondary learning. Alongside this, I have delivered whole‑school training on pedagogy, SEND and safeguarding, to ensure that teaching across the school is strong, inclusive and responsive to pupils’ needs.
