About me
I'm a qualified primary school teacher (QTS) and SEN tutor with experience supporting both primary and secondary-aged students across English and Maths. I've worked with a wide range of children and young people, including those with dyslexia, dyscalculia, SEMH, PDA, speech and language needs, anxiety, autism, ADHD and selective mutism. I adapt lessons to suit each learner's individual needs, whether that's closing gaps in core subjects, preparing for SATs/GCSEs, or developing confidence with communication and independence. I'm calm, patient and relationship-focused, and I place a strong emphasis on building trust so children feel safe, engaged and motivated to learn.

Skills & Experience
Teaching Philosophy
I believe every child learns differently, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. My role is to understand how each child learns best and adapt my teaching to suit them.
I place a strong focus on building confidence first. In my experience, once a child feels comfortable and believes in themselves, their progress follows. I create a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and try again without pressure.
I also believe learning should feel engaging and manageable. I break things down into small steps, use different approaches where needed, and make sure children fully understand before moving on.
Most importantly, I want the children I work with to leave sessions feeling more confident, capable and positive about learning.

Your child needs a patient and calm approach
Your child lacks confidence or feels anxious about learning
You're looking for someone who will adapt to your child, not the other way around
Your child would benefit from 1:1 support that is structured but still engaging
You want a tutor who understands additional needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, ADD or selective mutism
You value clear communication and regular feedback on your child's progress
Something Sensational About Me
Something that really sets me apart is the way I build genuine relationships with the children I work with. I take the time to understand them properly, not just academically, but also how they feel about learning, too.
I'm also quite an artistic person, and that comes through in the way I teach. I like to present things in different ways, break concepts down visually, and make sessions feel more engaging, especially for children who don't always respond to more traditional methods.
Because I've been tutoring for several years alongside teaching, I've seen how much of a difference it makes when a child feels comfortable and understood. I'm often able to connect well with children who may be quiet, anxious or reluctant at first, and over time help them come out of their shell.
