My Specialist Experience Working with Young People with SEN
I have extensive experience supporting young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, building trusting and meaningful relationships that help pupils feel safe, understood and supported. I create calm, nurturing learning environments that encourage engagement, confidence and emotional wellbeing while adapting my teaching approaches to meet individual needs.

My Experience Working with Young People with Autism, ADHD and Anxiety
I have experience supporting young people with autism, ADHD and anxiety, using structured routines, movement breaks, visual supports and personalised strategies to support emotional regulation, communication, engagement and confidence. I understand the importance of creating predictable, supportive environments where young people feel secure and able to learn successfully.

My Experience Working with Sensory, Speech and Language Needs
I have experience supporting young people with sensory and auditory processing needs, speech and language difficulties, working memory difficulties and dyslexia. I use visual aids, repetition, scaffolded instruction and multi-sensory teaching approaches to support understanding, communication and independent learning.

My Experience with Makaton, AAC and Alternative Communication
I have practical experience using Makaton to support communication with non-verbal and minimally verbal young people and have developed this knowledge through training sessions and INSET opportunities within school settings. I am confident using Makaton alongside other communication approaches and have experience operating and communicating through AAC devices to support pupils in expressing their needs, making choices and participating meaningfully. I am planning to further formalise and extend my Makaton knowledge by completing Levels 1, 2 and 3 training in October 2026.

My Experience Working with Challenging Behaviour and Non-Verbal Young People
I have experience supporting young people who present with challenging behaviour and those who are non-verbal. I use calm, consistent and relational approaches to behaviour support while adapting communication methods to ensure pupils feel included, respected and able to participate meaningfully within sessions.

My Experience Teaching Primary and Secondary English, Maths and Science
I have over 7 years' experience delivering personalised 1:1 English and Maths tuition alongside my current role as a full-time Primary School Teacher. I have experience teaching both Primary and Secondary English, Maths and Science, including phonics, reading, writing, SPaG, arithmetic, reasoning and GCSE-level support. My lessons are carefully adapted to meet individual learning needs while building confidence, engagement and academic progress.

My Experience Teaching Social Communication and Language Skills
I have experience supporting young people to develop social communication and language skills through structured conversations, modelling, role play and targeted interventions. I help pupils build confidence in communication, emotional expression and positive social interaction.

I am passionate about helping young people develop confidence and self-esteem, recognising the important role this plays in emotional wellbeing, resilience and academic success. I create positive learning experiences where pupils feel encouraged, capable and proud of their achievements.

I provide engaging, creative and highly personalised sessions designed to motivate pupils and inspire curiosity and enjoyment within learning. I tailor activities to individual interests and strengths to help young people develop a positive relationship with education and increase engagement, trust and interest in learning.

My Skills Supporting Young People to Develop Independence
I have strong experience supporting young people to develop independence through organisation, problem-solving, study skills and executive functioning skills, including time management, task initiation and independent learning strategies. My aim is always to equip pupils with the confidence and skills needed to succeed both within and beyond education.
