Skills & Experience

Teaching Philosophy

All teaching is rooted in good relationships. This is the beginning of the journey between tutor and learner. I believe that trust is the vital component which enables a child to communicate their needs effectively. Once a child feels safe, they begin to develop their confidence and grow academically and personally; they are able to believe in themselves which is the key to unlocking their potential.

Qualifications & Training

  • Adaptive Teaching

  • SEND Practice (Using Thrive as a diagnostic tool)

  • Safeguarding Level 2

  • The Difference (LA training - trauma informed practice)

  • BA (hons) Drama/Art

  • PGCE: Secondary English/Drama (QTS)

  • NPQML - National Professional Qualification in Middle Leadership

  • NPQSL - National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership

Choose me if…

Choose me if you want your child to feel safe, develop a sense of self -worth and experience joy in learning. I have extremely high expectations of myself and never underestimate the privilege of a young person letting me into their world - my aim is always to make a positive impact on their and their family's lives.

Something Sensational About Me

I spent many years directing and producing school shows which has given me so many moments of real joy. Our school shows have always been truly inclusive and filled with students with additional needs as they found their 'family' there. I have recently returned to amateur dramatics and to my absolute surprise ended up being directed by one of my ex students...a wonderful experience!
