Teaching Pupils with ADHD:

I have extensive experience supporting children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and understand the importance of adapting my teaching approach to meet their individual needs. I create engaging, well-structured lessons that include a variety of interactive activities to maintain focus and motivation while breaking learning into manageable steps. I use positive reinforcement, clear routines, and flexible teaching strategies to help pupils develop confidence, improve concentration, and experience success. By building strong, trusting relationships and recognising each child’s strengths, I create a calm, supportive learning environment where pupils with ADHD feel understood, valued, and able to reach their full potential.

Teaching Pupils with PDA:

I have experience supporting pupils with a PDA profile and understand the importance of building trusting relationships and creating a low-pressure learning environment. My approach focuses on reducing anxiety by offering choice, collaboration, and flexibility rather than relying on direct demands. I adapt lessons to reflect each pupil’s interests, strengths, and preferred ways of learning, helping to increase engagement and motivation. By remaining calm, patient, and responsive, I support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning while respecting their individual needs and helping them make meaningful progress.
