About me

I build strong bonds with the pupils I work with, approaching the support I give them with patient empathy, reliable structure and good humour.

As a teacher, I have always believed that I needed to fit my teaching approach to match the needs of the pupils I work with, rather than trying to change their way of thinking to adapt to me.

I target my in-person teaching approach to practical and functional learning activities, boosting student interest and keep learning fresh and engaging. My online learning sessions include clear and structured presentations to share with pupils and interactive activities to make learning fun and meaningful.

Qualifications & Training

  • QTS, PGCE in General Primary Education, Degree and HND in Media Production.

  • Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

  • 5 day Ultimate Science course, to teach engaging and practical science lessons for SEND learners.

  • Delivery of Read Write Inc Phonics.

  • Attended training to be able to support learners with Down's Syndrome, hearing impairment and a variety of other pupil learning needs.

  • Epilepsy and emergency tracheostomy care, including training for safe delivery and recording of medication.

I have written and lead training sessions for whole staff development and created and delivered an induction programme for new members of staff to understand the requirements for working in a SEN provision, incorporating inclusion, safeguarding and duty of care.

Choose me if…

You need a reliable and engaging tutor to support with learning and life skills. I have been fully committed to any job role I have had. I have had the work ethic passed down to me of "if you are going to do a job, do it properly".

Something Sensational About Me

I am a creative person and an exhibited artist, specialising in paper cutting and printmaking. I have been a lino printmaker for 7 years, which I also teach in my spare time, and I am teaching myself how to screen print and make cyanotype prints.
