About me
I am fun, kind and passionate SEND teacher with 12 years of teaching experience. I have supported children with SEND in mainstream state education, specialist provisions and as a tutor. I have taught extensively in Early Years and have a special interest in play based, outdoor and child-led learning and feel these approaches can be positively adapted to suit a range of age groups and learners. I also have experience with more structured approaches including Attention Autism style lessons. I have taught KS1 and worked with KS2 age children through wellbeing and extra-curricular activities.
Most recently I have 6 years of experience working at an outstanding speech and language provision, where I developed a wide range of skills, strategies and expertise to help all children progress and thrive. I have supported children with ADHD, ASC (Autism), Global Developmental Delay, Dyslexia, Developmental Coordination Disorder, PDA, significant speech delays, verbal dyspraxia and Cerebral Palsy. I also have experience of working with children affected by trauma, attachment disorders, anxiety and other SEMH challenges. Many of the children I have worked with had multiple or complex needs and I am experienced in adapting the curriculum, planning and learning opportunities to benefit and support different learners.
