About me

I am a friendly, highly experienced teacher, SENCo, and educational leader with over 20 years of expertise. across mainstream, ASC specialist provision and dedicated SEN tutoring. I support learners with a diverse range of needs including ASC, ADHD, PDA and dyslexia and some with medical needs. As a fellow parent of a neurodivergent child, I understand family dynamics and I am dedicated to providing the empathetic, tailored approach your child needs to thrive.

Skills & Experience

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that at the heart of successful learning is an environment where the learner feels valued, liked and has the confidence to try new things and share their ideas. To achieve this, I spend time getting to know learners well, finding out where they are socially and academically and how they learn best. This helps to form a strong, trusting relationship which is the foundation to building confidence and making progress.

I believe that every child is an individual with their own strengths, interests and challenges. Regardless of diagnosis I plan sessions which build on their strengths and interests and provide small achievable steps so that the learner can see their progress. This in turn builds confidence and self-esteem.

I believe that the learners’ parents/family also play an important part in the child’s progress. This means sharing challenges and celebrating progress together.

I believe in lifelong learning. This includes my own. Every learner I have tutored has taught me something. If something is not working with your child, I will look to find a different approach and participate in additional training if necessary.
