Christmas is coming and soon it will be time to make seasonal preparations for this exciting time of year! However, for SEND children, the chaos of Christmas can be overwhelming. Fortunately, many venues offer SEND- friendly events that provide a more inclusive low-sensory environment for children and their families. This can include Christmas crafts, train rides, visits to Santa’s grotto and all the regular festivities that children anticipate, but with a low-sensory approach. We have gathered some of the best SEND-friendly UK events occurring over Christmas, 2026. Have a browse at what is happening near you!

Warm Up to Xmas!
Fireworks are always stunning, but they are often far from quiet. If you live near the East Midlands, you may want to experience a quieter fireworks event at Bluebell Dairy:
Bluebell Dairy SEND Pre-Christmas Experience
Derbyshire,
1st, 5th, 6th, 7th November

The Panto Season
A panto is great fun! But traditional pantos can be difficult for some SEND children. Relaxed pantomimes present a less overwhelming option that eases the challenges for neurodivergent children. This includes:
- Allowing audience members to move around, stim and make noise during the performance if needed
- Dimming lights and reducing sound effect noises
- In some cases, the production may use actors who are specially trained in SEND-friendly acting
