A season of connection, achievement and community - this summer has been one of our busiest yet.
Throughout July and August, our SENsational Tutors community has come together in ways that reflect our ongoing commitment to meaningful, personalised learning. These moments have helped children and young people feel supported, understood and valued.

From our first ever community day at London Zoo to outstanding GCSE results, the summer season has been filled with proud moments. Here’s a look back at the highlights.
Trip to London Zoo – August 7th
Our first ever SENsational Tutors community day was nothing short of extraordinary! Eighty-one people - families and tutors, joined us at London Zoo for a day of connection and shared experiences.
What made this day so special wasn’t just the animals or the weather, but the sense of community that was so evident. Children met their online tutors for the first time; families engaged with one another, and tutors saw their pupils shine in a relaxed environment.

From spotting favourite animals to enjoying our picnic and quiz, the day was full of laughter and inspiration. For many of our young people, this was a chance to learn in a different setting, to feel included, and enjoy a day designed just for them.
After such a wonderful turnout for our first event of its kind, it certainly won’t be our last.
Stevie Award Win
A massive highlight this summer was receiving a GOLD Stevie® Award for Company/Organisation of the Year at the 2026 International Business Awards, known as the “Oscars of the business world.”
Joining winners including Amazon, IBM, Ford, PayPal and Samsung felt surreal, but the judges’ comments made the achievement even more meaningful:
“An outstanding contribution to humanity.”
“Exceptional solution for special educational needs and disabilities.”
“The dedication of the team and the founder’s visionary leadership deserve the highest appreciation.”
We were also recognised earlier in the summer as Best School Partnership Provider 2026 at the TTA Awards, and featured in Education News for our double award success.

These achievements belong to us all, but most importantly, the children, young people and families we work with every day.
Glynda and the BBC
We were delighted to see our wonderful tutor Glynda Cullen featured on BBC Kent for her free weekly online SEND Book Club.
Every Friday, neurodiverse children join Glynda via Zoom to read Shadow Thieves by Peter Burns in manageable chunks, helping them build confidence, executive function skills and a love of reading.

The BBC highlighted how Glynda’s gentle, inclusive approach helps children feel capable, rather than overwhelmed. The author himself even joined a session to answer questions!
We are so proud of Glynda!
GCSE Results
GCSE results day brought inspiring stories from our SENsational pupils.
One young person who once faced many learning challenges achieved outstanding grades, thanks to years of confidence-building and personalised support.
Another pupil who scored grade 2s in their English mocks went on to achieve a 4 in English Language and a 6 in English Literature, providing a stepping stone to A-levels.
We also celebrated a young person with ADHD who achieved five grade 6s, including English and Maths, after developing strong study routines and self-belief.
Seeing young people grow in confidence, independence and resilience is what truly makes these achievements special.
Case Studies: Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our tutors have been busy creating unforgettable learning experiences this summer.
Hina’s Adventures
Tutor Hina supported a young person through visits to Cadbury World, Warwick Castle, Tamworth Castle and Kenilworth. These real-world experiences helped develop communication, independence, curiosity and confidence, with one highlight being a hide-and-seek game involving 200 steps!

Terri’s Outdoor Learning
Tutor Terri introduced a young person to trigbagging, exploring local trig points while building navigation skills, outdoor safety awareness and confidence on uneven terrain. They also used the Merlin Bird ID app to identify bird calls, encouraging curiosity and connection with nature.

These case studies show how personalised education can transform learning into something meaningful, memorable and deeply engaging.
