My career started as a secondary school teacher teaching PE, PSHE, Citizenship, English and Drama, giving me the tools and experience to meet pupils individual learning needs whatever level that might be. Gaining promotion as a Head of Year very early in my career developed my pastoral skills and desire to retrain as a counsellor. Along the way I have worked as a 1-2-1 tutor and also mentor and coach as well as classroom teacher and counsellor. In all these roles I have worked with children and young people with - ADHD, Autism, Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Speech and Language issues, Mutism, Down's Syndrome, mild/moderate/severe/complex learning difficulties, challenging behaviours, trauma and mental health issues/illness, emotional struggles.

My tutoring is tailored to each individual as no two young people are ever the same. I take time to get to know each child creating a trusting and nurturing environment based on patience, kindness, respect and humour.
