I am an experience SEN teacher who´s been supporting children with a varied range of special needs since 2011.  During all these years, I have worked in mainstream and Additional Resource Provisions and  in numerous occations I have visited Special Needs schools as part of my professional development.

I have a specialized profile in teaching children with Autism in Early years however I also have experience teaching all ages and children with different needs rather than autism such as Down Syndrome, Social Emotional difficulties, Memory difficulty processing,  Ocupational therapy, Global developmental delay etc.

Through these years, I have leased on a daily basis with different external agencies and professionals such as Occupational and Speech and language therapist, educational and clinical psychologists etc. From those, I have received continuous training which have contributed to my professional development and consequently to create meaningful specialised interventions for my students.

Personal traits as curiosity and values such as creativity and lifelong learning contribute to apply a pristine professional ethic and provide with immeasurable value to my students through my interventions. I like to daily read about my subject and also matters dealing with psychology and child development.

My creativity helps my students to connect with their internal motivation and my IT skills helps me to create personalised and relevant resources for the students to support their learning.

My Teaching Philosophy

I see my job as being to provide children with a challenging, fun and cooperative learning environment, and with tools to build their confidence in their ability to achieve, both socially and academically.

What I bring to the role is:
• patience and enthusiasm; a genuine love for the job
• IT and creative skills that allow me to develop engaging learning resources and experiences
• strong behaviour management, organisational and planning skills which allow me to build tailored programmes and set SMART targets for pupils
• strong communication skills – which I can adapt to different audiences and cultures
• formal training and experience in language education

I believe that I stand out among my peers in four ways:
Thinking beyond the classroom: I build learning opportunities and resources not only for the classroom but also for pupils to experience at home or in cross-curricular activities. By building rapport with families and establishing positive relationships I am able to achieve results outside the classroom.

Initiative and drive: I am not afraid to take responsibility or put in extra work. I have a history of stepping up and learning fast in order to work above my pay grade when my employers have needed me to.
Personal development and knowledge sharing: I strive to be a reflective practitioner, taking time outside the working day and week to research and share resources in the SEN community. Understanding best practice helps me provide the children with the best learning experience that I can.

Commitment to diversity: I have spent most of my teaching career in multicultural environments. I have taught my students to embrace and celebrate differences. But I too have gained an appreciation of differences in parenting and can accommodate those while being consistent and effective as a professional.

Something Sensational About Me

I am fascinated by books specially those which help you to develop a growth mindset or improve skills. I am currently learning Speed reading which is any of several techniques used to improve one's ability to read quicker than usual. At the moment I am achieving the score of 700 words per minute. This is 3 or 4 times faster than a normal reader.
