Experience, training and skills

I am a qualified, highly motivated and dedicated specialist tutor for 3+ year olds, with teaching specialisms in Performing Arts & Early Years Special Education including autism (ASD). I am eager to use my current teaching qualification (PGCE) and previous experience in a wide range of settings, both in the UK and overseas, to facilitate 1:1 tutoring sessions & specialist educational workshops that ignite an individual’s spark, instil confidence and inspire a love of learning.

I hold a wealth of teaching experience across all three primary key-stages, both in the UK and overseas, and have experience working with children and young people with specific educational needs including autism (ASD), and learners from bilingual backgrounds. I am keen to use my current teaching qualification to facilitate 1:1 tutoring sessions that eradicate any previous barriers to learning, seek out how children learn best and foster a love of learning. I have a thorough understanding of theEarly Years Foundation Stage Framework and National Primary Curriculum, and specialist subject knowledge of the Maths Mastery Programme and Letters & Sounds Phonics Programme.

In my role as Reception Phase Lead, I was responsible for implementing and delivering Maths, Phonics, Behavioural & Speech & Language interventions to children. I also have extensive experience in preparing pupils for end of term examinations and administering National Curriculum Tests, such as: Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, Year 2 SATs & Year 6 SATs.

My Teaching Philosophy

I favour a multi-sensory approach to my teaching and am committed to unlocking the potential of each and every child in a supportive, compassionate and encouraging way - through the use of personalised learning plans, individual targets and confidence-building skills.

I am a highly adaptable and reflective practitioner and would describe my teaching style as enthusiastic, creative and passionate.

As a qualified Primary School Teacher, I share specialisms in both Early Years Education and Performing Arts. As an educator, I am a firm believer in delivering excellence within the wider curriculum, ensuring all children receive a high-quality and well-rounded education.

A highly reflective practitioner who is adaptable, nurturing & passionate.

A creative thinker who actively seeks out ways to eradicate previous barriers to learning & ignite an individual’s spark.

Something sensational about me

I love to travel and experience different cultures & cuisines. I enjoy keeping fit, going to the theatre & hanging out with my pet rabbits – Chutney & Chia. I have a very sweet tooth & love anything with chocolate in. My favourite colour is yellow because it reminds me of the sunshine & my favourite season is Autumn because I love jumping in the leaves & looking for conkers! I love to sing, dance & perform and when I was 5 years old – I won a talent show in Spain, singing “5 Little Speckled Frogs” – even though I became a little confused counting down from 5 – 1!
