Experience, training and skills

I am a highly passionate, patient and creative tutor who strives to provide a profoundly effective teaching and learning environment, tailored to the needs of each particular pupil. I have taught children from the ages of 3-11 years, so have a sound understanding of the milestones pupils come from and are heading towards. I have several years experience of teaching and tutoring pupils with special educational needs including; Autism, Global Developmental Delay, ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, Selective Mutism, EAL, SEBD and TBI.

I believe in using pupil’s interests to create a ‘love for learning’ and a ‘can do’ attitude, and achieve this by providing a bespoke plan for each session – ever changing to the requirements of the pupil.
As well as being an empathetic and patient tutor, I also believe in challenging pupils in order to help their confidence grow in areas they lacked self-esteem or belief.
For me it is vital to develop and maintain a meaningful and trusting relationship with my pupils – so as to implement consistency and stability to their learning journey. I believe that once a pupil’s trust is earned, their confidence, personality and enthusiasm shines through!

My experience training and skills include;

SEN Private Tutor
Primary School Teacher (Early Years – Year 6)
Private Tutor to International students (EAL)
Volunteer – Preschool group, Toddler group, Rainbows group
Senior Early Years Practitioner

I have also undergone several training programmes including;
SEN, EAL, EYFS, Mindfulness, SafeGuarding, Phonics and Maketon.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe every child, regardless of their ability, needs or background, should have the uppermost opportunity to fulfilling their unique potential. I believe every child learns differently, therefore education should be tailored to suit the requirements and interests of each individual. I believe that mistakes are a learning curve for opportunity and reflection, and that building an effective support system around a pupil; one that understands, trusts and shares with one another - is the ultimate key in unlocking a child’s thirst for learning.

Choose me if…

  • You are looking for a creative approach to learning that draws on your child’s interests.
  • You are looking for an enthusiastic, fun, yet calm and patient tutor.
  • You are looking for a tutor that supports behavioural, social, and emotional development as well as academic progression.
  • You are looking for a committed tutor that will provide consistent and reliable support.

Something sensational about me

I have taught in over 30 schools in and around London and beyond.

I also tutor pupils in Beijing!

In the Winter you can find me skiing in the Alps –  in the summer you can find me sat near the Coast with a good book!
