“I believe in that teaching is not only just passing information to students but also having an honest intellectual relationship with students”

After completing my Master’s degree (M.Sc.) In Mathematics, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and PGCE from the University of Brighton, with over 17 years of hands-on successful Mathematics teaching experience, I am confident in my ability and passion to become a good Mathematics Lecturer. I have been teaching GCSE Maths and A level Maths (Edexcel, OCR & AQA) exam, boards. I also taught IB ( International Baccalaureate ) programme in a Sixth form college.

I have also taught an IB diploma programme in the Sixth form college, which is one of the world’s most exciting course for 16-19 year old. Under my able guidance students really did well and they were better prepared academically for University level course. It really helped my students to develop their excellent breadth and depth of their knowledge and understanding of  Mathematics. What personally I feel IB diploma offers breadth but A level offers depth. I really enjoyed teaching IB and A level maths in different colleges.

Throughout my educational responsibilities of 17 years, more than 70% of my students achieved A* and A grades in Mathematics. The success rate was 96% in A2 Mathematics in 2016. Under my guidance, TWO students achieved Gold, FOUR Silver and ELEVEN Bronze certificates in UKMT-2017 (UK Math’s Challenge).

In 2016, my two students got selected in Duke University, USA and received full funding. Furthermore, one student also got selected in the University of British Colombia, Canada and got full funding. I prepared them for the interview and mathematical aptitude test conducted by Universities.

I believe in that teaching is not only just passing information to students but also having an honest intellectual relationship with students.

My Teaching Philosophy

I encourage learning by using a number of different manipulative, hands-on activities and various types of shortcut methods (VEDIC MATHS FORMULAE) to solve complex problems, which automatically creates interest among the students. I am able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive class atmosphere. In addition, I organize monthly tests to track student’s progress, locate areas of weaknesses and prepare students accordingly for final exams.

Something sensational about me

My ability to create clear and concise learning objectives and the knowledge of using innovative, appropriate and differentiated instructional methods which really helped students to score good grades in their exams.

As a Maths teacher, I always interpret students` written work, analyze their reasoning and respond to the different methods, which they use to solve problems. Especially during my teaching, I always see mathematical possibilities in a set task, sizing it up and adapting it for a specific group of students.
